The Hunger Games

Picture
Quick Overview:
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen accidentally becomes a contender in the annual Hunger Games, a grave competition hosted by the Capitol where young boys and girls are pitted against one another in a televised fight to the death.

Thoughts On The Book:
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a story that keeps you hooked throughout the book. This book deals with the struggles Katniss faces while she is in the games: missing her family and friends, playing the game, and the new friendship of Peeta. This is a book that I teach in my freshman English class and they really enjoy it. I found it to encourage students who normally do not like to read to want to read more and continue on to the other books in the series.
